Beginners' Questions SVG sprite does not allow ungrouping

I created a symbol pack out of Bootstrap icons. The individual SVGs are not a Union. But when I created an SVG sprite ( using an npm CLI ) and use an icon on canvas, it acts as a single element. It does not allow to ungroup it so that we can change its colour. It behaves like a single element / union.

Is there any tweak that I can apply to the SVG sprite to make it allow ungrouping of icons when added to the canvas through the symbol set ? Thanks.

    PS : Symbol set attached

    Hi meetdilip,

A symbol acts as a clone when it is used in an svg file. You can try Shift+Alt+D to unlink the clone.

After that the symbol will become a group. But it is not linked to the original symbol anymore. You can now edit it and ungroup if you like.

    Nice to hear!

If you make a new symbol, you can give it the colour unset. If you do this for the fill and the line colour, that is the best. It looks black, this unset colour. Then you can use a symbol and give it the colour you want in your svg file. Unset is the ? mark in the fill&stroke menu.

Good luck with your own symbol sets!

Awesome! Never knew there is an option like this. Thanks for the tips.
