I created a svg file using R and I'm trying to move it to my master SVG file to incorporate it into my collection of figures, but whenever I try to move it to my other SVG file where the rest of the figures are, I get a big black box (as seen in the example)
If you change to outline view [View > Display Mode > Outline] you'll see that all the shapes are present even though they're obscured by a black rectangle.Â
Select everything [ctrl+a] and ungroup [shift+ctrl+g]. Select the the black box and look at the status bar. You'll see "Group of 36 objects; clipped in Layer 1." So ungroup again [shift+ctrl+g] and select the black rectangle again. In the lower left corner you'll see "Fill: Unset" which means the rectangle has no associated <Fill> attribute. Change this to "Fill: none".
When Inkscape finds an object with no fill value, it is renders this as black and my web browsers do the same. This looks like a problem with svg output in R.
In this case, you have created clip groups, open the layers tab, find the folder that says g907, expand it and delete the rectangle at the top. I was going to leave you a video, but I have no more space in the forum.
Hi

How do I get it not to do that?
