I am having difficulty finding how to create an SVG version of the spiral logo attached. Black text white background, for printing purposes. Any help is appreciated.

Using search terms "Inkscape text on spiral path," many results were provided. The first link I found was a video providing something similar to what you seek. It is four years old, but likely to have sufficient validity to solve your request. If not, consider a similar search to find one useful to you.

You could use the [Perspective/Envelope] and [Bend] path effects.

The [Bend] path effect distorts the characters of course. You could theoretically split the text into individual letter shapes [Path > Object to Path] and [Path > Split Path], group the result and use [Extensions > Generate from Path > Scatter...] to arrange the letters along the spiral. I say "theoretically" because I can't get it to work.

Thank-you Paddy and Fred. Much appreciated. I'm new at this so these suggestions are very helpful.

I have a simpler, more flexible method. Clone the text then path effect [Perspective/Envelope]. Rotate 180 deg. Copy. Draw a spiral then path effect [Pattern Along Path] [Link to path in clipboard]. You can adjust the spiral, the text string, and the perspective. If you omit the rotation step, text will start at the inside of the spiral instead of the outside.
