I accidentally made a "fill and stroke" panel a separate window by dragging the panel icon. Yet I can't drag it back. If I close the panel, it reopens as a separate window. There must be some secret to reattaching it. No menu does it, no click seem to do it, no drag does it.
I give up. Secret handshake? Mouse gesture? Donation to Inkscape.org ? What does it take?
More seriously, just a click and drag/ drop : look at screenshot, where I click + drag and where I drop. I agree it's not completely obvious, but it's logical.
Oh man, going to sound like a complete noob here.

Donation to inkscape 🤩

Now it's like something I can't unsee.
That's the obvious symmetric easy way to do it... now.
Before posting I must have spent a half hour searching, including looking at a now obsolete YouTube video on it.
Thank you.
