I am new user of a forum so please forgive me if the answer to my question is obvious. I was looking for the solution but with no luck. I would like to ask how to avoid font changing to default after the text remove or change. For example I have text box with some text, when I delete content of the text box and start writing new one Inkscape changes the formatting to default. I would like to preserve the current formatting for a new content. So far I have managed with it through partial deleting of the content. I always stay with one or two characters and then the format was preserved.
Go into the Edit menu and select Preferences at the bottom. Click on Text within the Tools section. Down near the bottom is a section titled 'Style of new objects'. Make sure 'Last used style' is selected. That should do it.

Hi dzon_doe, welcome to the forum.
Go into the Edit menu and select Preferences at the bottom. Click on Text within the Tools section. Down near the bottom is a section titled 'Style of new objects'. Make sure 'Last used style' is selected. That should do it.
The default font and size can be set to default using the Text and Font dialog (Ctrl+Shift+T). Remember to click "Set as default".
