Beginners' Questions Add support for ENTER key to apply changes

When I type in the text size in the active text box and press ENTER on keyboard, nothing happens. I have to use mouse and press APPLY for changes to happen. Also would be nice if mouse scroll worked there to increase/decrease font size numbers. See screenshot attached below.

I am surprised no one in the past years has thought of adding support for Enter button as a way to apply changes after typing something in the text box. I think over the past weeks of Inkscape usage I have noticed this problem also in other text boxes.

It's weird so see lots of these tiny basic productivity features missing, which are all there on AI.

    My version: Inkscape 1.2.1 (9c6d41e410, 2022-07-14)

For greater efficiency/productivity, I use the text controls above the workspace. The Text/Font dialog is where I apply ligatures and other special text features.

I tried font selection above workspace and mouse scroll didn't work to increase/decrease font size, but ENTER worked there.

For me the drop down menu doesn't work. When I click on it, it doesn't open the drop down font selection. But font style selection, font size selection works.

IIRC, you have like 3K fonts. This may be affecting the dropdown response.

You can add your comments to the feature request for additional font management features: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inbox/-/issues/2979
