Both subpaths of path1661are actually open at their bottom node (and therefore the satin stitches will start and end at the bottom) However if you draw two elipses, combine then and apply parameter on the resulting path, you may turn it into a satin column by checking custom satin column in the satn column tab.
In the same way you can create a satin column from two closed object.s However you may need to open them to control starting and ending points.
Hello,
I am trying to create a random satin object using the 'Random Satin Bee' example in the tutorial.
What kind of objects are 'path11661' and 'ellipse11594' (the 'head' of the bee)?
They seem to be two concentric ellipses combined to one path?
But how do you create a satin column from two concentric ellipses or closed objects in general?
Thanks

Great, thank you; that's exactly what I was looking for.
