I am not new to creating designs. However, I am new to creating shortcuts in inkscape.  One the items i use on a regular basis is 'trim thread after sewing this object."  My designs are intense, and I hate spending hours of trimming my motif.  So, I use the extension, ink/stitch, commands, attach command to selected object and select trim thread after sewing this object.

Is there a way to make this a shortcut?

I found the answer. I was able to create a short cut one level above.

Edit-preference-extensions-attach commands to selected objects. Add your shortcut here.

It took no time at all to add trim
