First I made the vector and then I tried to integrate it in wood using clips and some effects. I love the aesthetics of this motorcycle, that's why I made this badge 😀
Okay, this is an "award" of sorts. For bring excellent at what you do. I like mosaics, patterns. tiling.etc. This is supposed to be a mosaic like effort.
Three versions for this (actually, years ago, I made a knitting chart with that and Calc and I used it as a base for this drawing). And, for the text, it's a play on words between "Linux mon cœur ne bat que pour toi" (that means "Linux, my heart only beats for you") and "Linux mon cœur ne bash que pour toi". Bash being, if you don't know that, a command-line interpreter for Linux.
And and I've been fighting with the Mirror symmetry tool for the hearts, but now, I understand how it works :) that is good.
Knitting being one of my favourite hobbies, now that I know the Taper stroke tool (I discovered it with the tutorial on how to draw an acanthus), I thought I could make a "knitted" badge of merit with this single word "Libre" (free as in freedom). To be honest, knitting it, would have been much less work, but I can use it for further knitting tutorials. One may associate this word with software, drawing, knitting, etc.
A mosaic style "award" or badge. (I like the creativity found in mosaic art.)
The "original" Shape Builder is the person ... especially their imagination and heart and hands. We shape ourselves by expressing and shaping the world snd things we make.
Taking a stroll through the Smithsonian website, I came across this plaque awarding Groucho and I said to myself, this is for the challenge, because I'm a big fan and I also liked the plaque. https://www.si.edu/object/look-television-award-plaque-awarded-groucho-marx:nmah_682840
Hi. Here is my last entry for this month's challenge
Before the dawn yesterday, I heard some birds chirping away. They were singing their songs and talking to one another and no doubt were encouraging one another. Just as they encouraged me. They were made to magnify. And so are we.
So, this led to this Chirpiness Badge idea. Have a great day and week.
We challenge you to:
Design a Plaque or Badge for Something You Love.
Let's see what you come up with!

Challenge entries (so far)
Beautiful artwork and great idea for the new challenge.
Thank you so much, Pacer.
You are quick. First comment award goes to @ken10001000
Thanks for your kind words.
Good theme as 14 feb will be the "I love Free Software Day" (perfect for Inkscape) and the banner you did for it is awesome. I wish I had your skill.

Marcos, a sweet piece of work. Thank you.

Keep being marked for joy.

Instead of writing the text, I drew it.
@mrks9
Really good work on the logo and interesting to see it applied to another texture. Thanks for sharing.
@ken10001000
Very thoughtful and I can see the mosaic effect that you intended. Thank you for your entry.
@Caradjine
I do enjoy using Linux and bash. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Pacer.

I guess this could be a plaque of sorts.
I may or may not decide yo develop this further.
Since this challenge is about what you love, it came to me that I love my family and friends, and being with them.
So. I imagined something like this could be hanging in a living room or a kitchen area
Playing with the shape builder came up with a couple of shapes and I had this idea. Good old Tux thinking he's an Orca 😃

Hi. I love giving praise and worship as it is due. Since this plaque is not so much about a "place" but about a Person, it can be put up anywhere.
Wood Carver Wanna Be Badge.
@ken10001000 Beautiful, I love it 👏
Marco's thank you for your kind words.
I know the design is simplistic. I wanted to express a sort of rough outline of a work in progress.
I also hope this will stir others to share their notions no matter how basic or "crude".
As the badge states - let the chips fall. Whittle away. Carve and create.
Hi. Another simple plaque or badge.
The words came after the bunnies were made.

Sliding in a last minute entry by submitting something done in 2019.
Who doesn't love success?
Another thing I hold dear.
Adventure!
Lots of great ideas and designs here!
I mis-spoke before. This is my last entry this month.
"Beyond The Horizon" badge.
Nice Ken, how did you make the dots ? (yes, my knowledges on Inkscape are low).
Thank you. There are a series of Bobbin Lace Extensions shown on this MightyScape link. I downloaded them and used it and enlarged the result.

Here goes my 2 cents.
Will probably post upgrades in the wip topic.
Sqeazing it here before the deadline.
Hmm maybe a 1-eyed variant is more cconvincing?
Thank you all for participating in the February 2023 Inkscape Challenge.
You may be pleased to hear that the March 2023 Inkscape Challenge is now on!
