Recently I have been using more and more Inkscape to create Illustrations. I do the base image in Inkscape and then take the svg in Krita to add texture. I wanted to know if there is a way to add stippled texture in inkscape itself. I have tried to use the spray objects tool but the performance takes a hit after some time. So is there any easy way or trick to achieve this.
There are a loads of filters in Inkscape. Look for those with "bumps" or "noise" in their names.
If you want to see what all the filters look like, you can look in the installation files, where you installed inkscape. Go to Inkscape/share/examples/filters.svg. Be sure to zoom to 100%, to see them properly.
Plus, there are tons of 3rd party filters too. You can find a lot on Lazur's website. I don't have a direct link to the filters, but you should be able to find them: https://iterativeideasinventory.blogspot.hu/
thanks for the link @brynn, Lazur has a lot of good info but unfortunately all the SVG source, or at least all that I was looking for, was down a link to openclipart and that site is down and has been down for a while now.
Do you have any other good references for filter information.
Oh sorry about that. I thought Lazur had some of his filters there on his site. Yes, I know about OCA being gone, and virtually all of Lazur's filters were there. I hope he can re-upload them somewhere else, someday.
No, OpenClipart is where all the filters I know about were hosted.
There are a very small fraction of them in the Inkscape gallery (on the main website). Just search Lazur's gallery. I think he has a Deviant Art account, but don't know if he has any filters there.
But I think you can find something similar to what you showed, already installed in Inkscape. Even if you can only find one that's close to what you need, you can edit it using Filter Editor, and get even more variety.
Many of Lazur's filters (maybe all, or most?) have already been uploaded to the alternative freesvg site. Find them by searching 'filter' at https://freesvg.org/search/

Here is a reference of the texture that I am talking about - https://cdn.dribbble.com/users/2950835/screenshots/8502285/media/5efd5319213c81229221b6393ea0d9cf.png
