Beyond the Basics Inkscape crashes when trying to create a new font

    So I create a new file from the Typography Canvas template, open the SVG Font Editor, and then Inkscape either crashes when I click on 'new' or when I attempt to rename the font. I wouldn't expect this to be a bug, but could it be?
    I'm using Inkscape 1.1 on a Mac. Any insight would be much appreciated.
