Hello, I have a line with a arrow on the other end and so do not want to use the line tool to add additional length to the line, nor have the arrow jump to the other end. So I want to use the node too to add a node then using the node tool, grab the end node and bend the line to an exact angle from the original line.
I would have thought that there would be a shift/CTRL/.... that could be used to force an exact angle but I do not see anything.
I also thought that I could use the transform tool to rotate between 2 nodes, but that just rotates the whole line.
I do technical drawings and this function would help keep my redo's down to a minimum.
Similiar to Paddy_CAD's idea, you can create a straight line, horizontally or certically. Then, by use of the Transform Tool, use the Rotation Tab, adjust the orientation to your desired angle. And use that rotated line as a "reference" when creating your intended line, snapping nodes or overall new lines as needed.

Ctrl can be used when the node tool transform handles are active. Increments are set in Preferences>Behavior>Steps
Here's another possibility.
Drag a guide to the node you want to bend then [double-click] the guide to set the angle.
Hello Tyler and Paddy,
Paddy's solution works best for my situation. Thanks both of you for providing solutions.

Tyler's and Paddy_CAD's ideas are great.

Well - I didn't even know
node tool transform handles
existed ! - Thanks for asking the questionand thanks for the replies :)
