Hum you saved my work !!! It works in fast and easy way !!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH !!! I've created those examples in less than a minute !! Amazing !!! thanks again !!!!. Now my underwater cartographic project can go on !!
here we are again !! unfortunately another problem popped up, I think it is one of the many bugs of inkscape for mac (I have a monterey 12.2.1 on M1 and Inkscape 1.2) . If I open a new project , without anything, I can create these curvilines with the ruler, while if I try to do the same thing on my original project, it doesn't do it for me, it makes me apply other types of filters (not all of them), but this one of the ruler doesn't !!! I take this opportunity to ask something else, some times when I open inkscape, it shows me all the layers and their sublayers , with all the individual objects created, while some times I open the program and it shows me only the general layers, without showing me the individual objects created (this is a bug), has anyone ever had this kind of problem with mac ? thanks
Hi. I use Windows not Mac. There are several folks around who may be able to address Mac issues., are you sure the issue is with the Ruler extension itself or some other steps in solved? Have you tried ALL the various options available with this extension? The "left" and "right" options should locate the created ruling Mark's on ine side or the other. And this extension should generate straight line divisions, not curved ones.Â
Can you share some images and or svg files of what you want and what steps you are taking? It may be another process entirely if you want curved line divisions. Such as ... do you mean angled division lines or actually curved ones?
** Not sure exactly what you are wanting. Take a few minutes to look at this recent topic. Scroll down and look at the shared graphic about the Scatter Extension within it. That may be helpful. **
I have temporarily solved it, basically if in the ruler I set the unit of measure in px it doesn't let me display it, but if I use units of measure in cm or mm it does
Hello. This great Live Path Effect can be useful on any Path with as many or as few sub-division markings as you wish for your designs or projects.
And of course, even the units of measure for these markings can be switched from pixels to mm, cm, inches or pts.
See mini tutorial below and explore your creativity. Rule well, my friend!  :)
Oh! Nice! thank you for the heads up! I can use this 😃
I gather it is supposed to be accurate(ish)? (no worries: i'm sure to give it a try very, very soon!)
And now you made me look, i like 'Measure Segment' too! Awesome!
Is there a way measuring angles too perchance?
Via Ruler tool?
aka "Measure Tool"Â Â https://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/1.0#Measurement_Tool
Whoa! Yes! Exactly that 😮
Thanks gentlemen!
many thanks to everybody for the tips, I'll try
