I came up with this by playing around with the Filter Editor on the InkScape Filter called Cracked Lava. Much of the depths of the filters are a mystery to me. Yet this experiment came out beautifully to me and I want to share it so you can make your own alterations and discover many potential textures (uses) for yourself.

I am sure there are many ways to produce textures when using the filters within InkScape.

    Here is one way.

I have included two short graphic instruction files and the svg file that has the altered filter within it.

I truly welcome your shared results to be seen and explored.

You can also unlink the x any y base frequencies in the filter editor.

Using different composite options may need a backdrop to your filtered object. As it can generate a semi-transparent appearance -like holes in a cheese.

Nevertheless you are on a good start if you are looking at existing filter chains in the filter editor. If you have the patience the filter editor can yield to some useful results.

Thank you, Lazur, for sharing this. I had no idea you had already went into this level of time and "sweat exploration" to create these results. Being greedy ... do you have other svg accessible files I  could look st so I can learn from your work? Investing the time to dig deeper seems to be high

Thank you also for the inspiration, Lazur.

That filter pack was an earlier one on my exploration journey.

Most recent one would be this, made for the about screen contest:

    https://inkscape.org/~Lazur/%E2%98%85inkscape-ink-landscape

-even the signature is generated by the filter.

Had my fair share of exploration -got partially archived here:

    https://alpha.inkscape.org/vectors/forum.inkscapecomunity.com/indexaace.html?topic=329.0

Started a custom page for logging which got to a hault at some point.

Openclipart was absent for a while making all those files disappear.

Since their restart the collection feature is nonexistent and most of the links for the svg-s and thumbnails are broken.

Based on the effort put in and the outcome never felt it worth revisiting the idea yet but who knows.

Will consider relaunching that tutorial series never finished if you are interested.

To this day can only link to Xav's tutorial series in the full  circle magazine:

    https://inkscape.org/forums/tutorials/inkscape-tutorials-in-full-circle-magazine/#c8071

-from issues #48 to #57 focusing on filters.
