I am trying to download XQuartz and Inkscape to my Mac and I can not get it to work. It keeps saying that the creater needs to update. Has anyone been able to use it with the Catalina update?
I'm frustrated. I installed inkscape using xquartz to run it and it will open but nothing will work. I've turned off my computer and back on, reinstalled etc. will the same problem.
You don't need xquartz for Inkscape 1.0, please uninstall xquartz and any previous Inkscape version first. Then download the 1.0 release linked by Windell above.

If you are running Catalina, use Inkscape 1.0 (beta), which does not use XQuartz: https://inkscape.org/release/inkscape-1.0/?latest=1
