Hi everyone. I'm new to Inkscape. I created these individual paths/objects and now that I'm ready to merge/combine them all into one object/vector, the "O" letter mysteriously infills to all black.
How do I fix this? I assume it has something to do with stroke or infill but not sure what to do. I want the background to be transparent. Thanks for any help.
Sorry but I failed to figure it out.Β I'm attaching my file, can anyone show me how?Β I know the node tool but I guess there is no node to grab? I tried the before and after combining and couldn't figure it out.
Here's my file is anyone can record or screen show steps on how to do it pretty please?Β Β Thanks.
I was assuming the "O" was a color filled shape and not just a circle object. So please select the "O" and go Path->Stroke to Path then select all and go Path->Combine.
Thank you, that worked!Β Perhaps I should have told you how I created the O, my bad.Β I simply drew points with the bezier tool.Β Β Β So if I create a shape that has nothing in the middle, I need to do that extra step next time before I combine everything?Β Or does this mean I didn't draw it correctly for next time?Β thanks.

Take the Node tool and select one node from the "hole" of the "O" and go Path->Reverse.
Thanks, I'll try that. I'm definitely not fully understanding the "stroke" and infill things yet so hopefully I will start to get this. Thank you.
Do you mean I do that before I merge/combine all the objects I hope or do you mean after?

The process is just fine - many ways lead to Rome.Β π
