My question concerns typography. When I write text on a page and export the file in pdf format, I see some sort of white squares in my pdf file. However, these white squares are not present in the Inkscape interface.
I should point out that I haven't applied any outlines to this text.
Your font has self-intersections, which is unusual, and your pdf application is treating these intersections as "holes". In the Fill and Stroke dialog [shift+ctrl+f] go to the [Fill] tab and set [fill rule: even-odd]. Does this resemble the pdf output?
Before you export your pdf, select the text and [Path > Union] to eliminate the intersections. Does this work? Note that this creates non-searchable paths instead of searchable pdf text.
Thank you very much for your reply. I tried your suggestion and it solved the problem. It's perfect for me and I don't care if the object is no longer a text box.

Can you help me?
Thank you very much!
