Beginners' Questions What is the purpose of inkscape 1.3 CTRL+PageUp or Down?

    Inkscape says it Selects Different Layers.

    All it seems to do is draw a couple Ellipses around the Newly Selected Layer Names. It Doesn't Really Select any New Layers.

    The Original Selected Layer Stays Selected.

    CTRL+PageUp or Down seems to serve NO PURPOSE.

    For me it works when used on canvas.

    When used in object's panel, it yields results I don't really understand.

    The LAYER Folder at the top of  the page says the following.

    Switch to Layer Above       Ctrl+Page Up

    Switch to Layer Below       Ctrl+Page Down

    What happens when YOU do that?
