What is the most efficient way to make pattern color text in Inkscape? Did I miss something? If I use five colors or more I will have to spend so much time relooking for where they are on the pallete box. If there is a recent color history button please let me know.

Is there a way to get the eye dropper to only color in one character as opposed to all of them?
Convert text with Path->Object to Path - then "Ungroup" don't work?

Favorite colors can be saved as swatches. The Auto palette will show the swatches above the status bar.
