Recently I've been having trouble when moving objects. Instead of just moving the opbject around like it should, Inkscape also transforms the size of the object. (Shown in the two images)
I have tried finding a setting that could cause this, restarting my computer, opening a new file and reinstalling inkscape. None of these actions solved the issue.
Do any of you know how I could solve this problem? All help is welcome!
It's hard to say from the screenshots. Could you provide the SVG file please?
My first suspicion is that you have possibly some LPE involved in the object, or some kind of randomness setting. For example, if the object were drawn with the Star tool, with a randomness setting applied, you might see the object change as it's moved. As far as I can tell, you're referring to the white rectangles. But I can't get any further info from the screenshots. The SVG file would allow us to investigate better. You could attach it to your next message, or upload it anywhere you like, and give us the link.
Edit
Also your Inkscape version and operating system could be helpful to know as well.
Hhmm, I don't see anything that could cause this. Does the problem still happen now? If so, do you know how to make a video?
The only thing I can think right now, is maybe you accidentally put the mouse on one of the arrows.
I see that the squares are actually made of 2 triangles together. In your screenshot, it looks like you must be dragging a selection box around the 4 triangles, and then dragging. Is that how you do it?
The first thing I would try is closing Inkscape and renaming the preferences.xml to preferences-weird.xml. It's in the user profile (..username/appdata/roaming/inkscape/). Inkscape will make a new preferences.xml with default values.

Ah, of course. I'm running Inkscape 0.92.4 on Windows 10.
Thank you for looking into this!

Here's a recording. Were you unable to recreate the same issue?
Yes, that is weird.
The first thing I would try is closing Inkscape and renaming the preferences.xml to preferences-weird.xml. It's in the user profile (..username/appdata/roaming/inkscape/). Inkscape will make a new preferences.xml with default values.
Chime back with results.
Have a nice day.

Definitely weird!
No, I was not able to reproduce it.
Did you change anything in Preferences > Input/Output > SVG Output ? Like maybe in Path Data or Numbers sections?
If you delete or rename the preferences.xml file, that will fix it. But it might help to identify where the problem came from.
Deleting the preferences solved it! Thank you both!
I also added a screenshot of the SVG Output settings. It seems like I had changed the numeric precision setting.
Thanks again. You really helped me out here!
Yes, that was the issue... I was able to replicate the behavior by changing the value to 1. (Mine is usually set to 9.)
Have a nice day.
