I've been using Inkscape successfully for about 8 months. Recently, I started experiencing an issue where I cannot grab and move the node handles on curves. They turn red when I hover over them, but I cannot drag or manipulate them. This seems really silly but I am now pulling my hair out. I was using Inkscape 1.2.  I downgraded to 1.1 and still have the issue. I also reset all my Inkscape System Preferences.

Here is a video of me experiencing the issue. https://youtu.be/jAZn2HuWRSA

I can't think of an explanation for that. The only thing I can suggest is to inspecting where are system files and delete them manually after completely uninstalling and the install again.

The bezier tool presents a choice of drawing modes in the Tools Control Bar (usually the second row of icons at the top of your Inkscape window). You probably selected [Mode:BSpline] when you drew these shapes. This produces an attractive smooth curve but the shape of a b-spline is determined by node positions only so curvature adjustment is unavailable. Select your shape and click [Flatten Spiro or BSpline LPE] (also in the Tools Control Bar) or use [Path > Object to Path] to to convert to a regular curve.
