I made a circle with the circle tool. I then chose the text tool and typed a few words. I want to curve the set of words along the edge of the circle.
I held shift on both the circle and the words so they were selected. I then hit Text to Path. All that happens is my text locks/groups with my circle but it does not curve along the edge of the circle. I could really use some advice/help please.
Have you made sure the circle has been converted to a path first ... before trying to apply the text?
That never have been a requirement to make this work. In fact, I think it's better not to convert it, because you can apply more adjustments more easily:
