I'm trying to convert a JPEG color file to a Plain SVG for import into Design Space. I traced the bitmap but am having trouble with filling in the color to the image to create its layers. Every time I try to fill a bounded area with color it does the below.
Design Space is the software for a digital cutting machine, I think, isn't it? Does that mean you want to cut out the pieces of the image? Or have I confused it with something else? Depending on exactly what your end goal is, you might need to use particular options when you use Trace Bitmap.
I can't make heads or tails out of the screenshot you shared. Would you please share your SVG file, and tell us exactly which object you were trying to fill? And also if you could explain your goals, we could suggest the best way to get there.

Try to set the 'Grow by' setting to something like 1 px, instead of 254 mm.
