Hi guys, I am a real beginner in inkscape, and use it mainly for scientific illustrations. I am currently working at some figures and, while I am able to use other tools, I am unable to use the text one. I create a text box, I write inside, but them if I select the text to change font or size, I am unable to select any options in the drop-down menu that appears. The first font or size stays selected in blue and I am unable to select others. As a result the text is arial, size 40 points and cannot be changed. The strange thing is that sometimes I manage, opening and closing the file, to change one time font or size, but then the tool blocks again. Is it a problem of my pc? I have 13GB RAM free, unused, so I don't think is a problem of memory allocation.
Do you select the text with the Text tool and then select all the text? Usually you have to select the written text, then hit Ctrl+A and then change the font.
I'm not quite sure what exactly is happening here. Can you upload a screenshot or a video of that?
HI guys, at the end re-installing inkscape with a more recent version solved the problem. It was kind of an obvious solution, so sorry for writing here.

You don´t need to select Text to change the font for all the Text in-a-shape - just make sure the frame is at least selected with the Text tool (T).
