From your screenshot, I can't tell that the text is being typed in one direction or the other. It looks more to me like it's being typed on top of itself. This can happen with a badly made font.
Have you noticed this problem with all fonts? Or just with one font?
There is a control for which direction the text goes, but I'm not convinced that's the problem. But if you want to make sure it's set how you want. Enable the Text tool and look at the control bar. For the current version of Inkscape, there are so many buttons and controls on the control bar, they don't all fit (unless you're on a huge screen). At the right end of the control bar is a tiny triangle-arrow. If you click on it, it opens a small dropdown menu. The last item is Text Direction. You can choose LTR (left to right) or RTL.
If it's already set for the direction you want, then your problem is something else.
And I'm straining my poor old brain. There's another explanation for text typing over itself, but at the moment, I can't remember it. If no one else posts it, I'll hopefully remember shortly.
Maybe a screenshot where we can see your Text tool control bar might help?
first of all thank you for your message, and sorry for my late response.
Yes, the text is typing kind of over itself, but it alwys ends on the righ side.
I have tried all possible, change settings in toolbar, reinstall InkScape, change fonts.
Whatś weird is that the text goes smoothly in the text control bar window (pls see the screenshot), but awkward in the document.
I really don´t know whether i do have anything wrong in my program settings, im using new version 64 bit for Windows. As i told i have reinstalled the program, but the same problem comes.
I agree. That does seem weird that it goes straight in the Text and Font dialog. Also, I can see that you're using a font that should not have this kind of problem.
I have to be honest. I don't know what's causing this. I have heard the problem before, but I don't remember the answer - what causes it or how to fix it. But I'm sure someone else will know.
So if you can wait until someone else comes along, I'm pretty sure there will be a solution.
In 1.0 none of the above worked for me. What worked for me was clicking on Extensions at the top, click Text in dropdown box and click change case and then click flipcase.

I would rather hear how to solve it, but at this time i need to find a different solution (for example LibreOffice).
Itś a realy pity, as the all tools work properly, only the text one shows these difficulties.
Thank you anyway, and if the answer will comes to your mind, pls send me a message.
Hello,
i just wanted to let You know, i have found the answer, the line height has to be set to > 0 and the width is also > 0.
Have a look, now itś ok. So simple, and so many hours to figure out...
