I am new to Inkscape and this is probably something stupid, but it's annoying the heck out of me. My text view seems to be defaulting to this view and I don't know why. I was messing around with different options the very first time I used it, and that's when it started. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled, but it didn't help. I figured it out once, but the next time I opened the program and typed something, it came back. I spend 50+ hours a week on a computer for work (mostly Excel though...so nothing that helps with this), so I don't really have the patience (or brain power) left to spend hours trying to figure out how to undo whatever I did. 🙂 Any idea what did I do and how do I undo it?
I'm on an HP computer, download the software a couple weeks ago, version 1.3.
Ah, thank you. Figured it was easy. So why does it default to whatever you did once? My spacing is all off too (I'm sure I've messed with it trying to fix the last problem), so will it always save whatever you did to be the default?

Please open Fill and Stroke panel and delete Stroke from the text object.

For the text go Text->Remove manual Kernings. Maybe go Inkscape Preferences->System hit Reset Preferences and restart Inkscape.
