Does someone have the solution to correcting the missing selections in the Text and Font Dialog box?
The text align selections (align left, align center, align right..) are all missing in addition horizontal and vertical text buttons and text path offset are missing. The complete row of selections is absent from the dialog box.
Problem exists in Inkscape 1.0(9f2f71dc58, 2020-08-02) but does not exists in 0.92.5 (2060ec1f9f, 2020-04-08).
The desktop operating system environment is as follows.
I misunderstood. I thought Text-Tool Controls was an alternate method to access text align functions and the missing horizontal and vertical text controls plus text offset. These are missing from the Text and Font Dialog screen.
If I wanted to enter text and ensure it is all aligned from the center, how would that be accomplished without the align center function button.
I can't see the forest for the trees. I have never used the Text Control Bar. It took me some time to even find it. I'm self taught in Inkscape so I have a lot to learn. Your suggestion works for me. Using the Inkscape version that supports clipboard copy/paste is what I need. I can use the Text Control Bar to make the edits needed in text. Thanks TD!

Thank you TD for the quick response.
I pulled on the threads from the link and can say at least it is not happening only to me.
The solution doesn't appear to have made it to Inkscape release for the Version of operating system I am using.
You are aware that the alignment and text direction are in the Text-Tool controls?
You have piqued my interest. How do I access Text-Tool controls?
I did a reload of the current Ubuntu support Inkscape release and took on the quest to find your reference. Care to share some bread crumbs?
Every tool in the Inkscape toolbox has controls. They are described here: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Anatomy.html
It may be that the Tool Controls Bar is currently hidden in your workspace.

The tools you describe are all in the Text tool controls.
