I am a total noob to inkscape. I am trying to get my startup branded. I created a logo and then by ungrouping and rearranging the parts I created a simplified and more elegant (IMHO) logo. My problem is that it looks great until I import/open the SVG in another application (I have tried various ones) then I see the original expanded logo smooshed together with the new simplified one. I have tried ungrouping the elements and clipping the wording but still the old logo remains attached to the wording. I can see the outline when I use the "edit nodes" tool.
I have added the SVG for your perusal. I have gone and looked for youtube videos but they all say I should clip the art which I have tried multiple times.

The Logo branching to the left of the image is the part that I want to remove, I still can't access the elements, it only selects the word Photography whereas I would like to remove the "Andrew Kerr" and leave only the camera and model above the line and the word photography.
Go in outline view again: Select all and go Object->Clip->Release - then take Node tool and draw a frame selection roughly around camera, name and figure (exclude any node from "Photography")and go Edit->Select all - then hit backspace to delete - this should leave "Photography" in its place.

When you go View->Display mode->Outline you will spot some clipping objects. As I don´t know how it looks correctly it´s up to you:
