I have just downloaded Inkscape 92.2 for mac and I'm getting "The developer of this app needs to update it to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information." I'm on Mac OS 11.6.7
I guess the minimum mac os requirement for Inkscape is 10.11, so technically it should be working on your system. However, as you said it is not working, so Inkscape support can answer this now.

0.92.2 is pretty old.
Thanks Tyler - Just loaded 1.2.1 and it worked! A little confusing on downloading, as I got the impression (incorrectly) that 92.2 was the latest.
