Shift+J, Alt+J, Shift+B are some of the shortcuts which are mentioned in Inkscape documentation, but none of them works. On the other hand, I couldn't find their entries in Edit > Preferences > Interface > Keyboard Shortcuts.
@Moiniย Not that I know of, because nothing happens when I press those keys. I don't have any special software running; Microsoft Essential Security, Windscribe. None of them use those shortcuts.
I'm able to join those end nodes using buttons in the Controls Bar for Edit Paths tool (F2).
Next step would be to test with the current beta version for 1.0 - there's an independent executable available, you do not need to overwrite your current Inkscape installation.
If it also doesn't work with that one, please open a bug report at https://inkscape.org/report. You can ask for making the shortcuts configurable, too, in case nobody is able to reproduce the problem on their system.

Is it a bug?
All of those work for me.
What's your Inkscape interface language, operation system language and keyboard layout?
@Moini Thanks for helping.
The interface language is English. The OS language is English. My keyboard layout is QWERTY.
That's curious... Are you able to update your Inkscape version to 0.92.4? Or are you on a Mac?
Works as expected in Win 8.1,ย Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06).
@Moiniย I updated my Inkscape to 0.92.4ย (2019-01-14). But those shortcuts still don't work. My OS is Win7 x64.
@Moiniย @TylerDurden Do you have entries for those shortcuts underย Edit > Preferences > Interface > Keyboard Shortcuts?
Mmmh, too bad :-/
No, those are not configurable currently. Is there any other software running that could be intercepting these commands?
You do select exactly two end nodes? (check the status line)

@Moiniย I just tried Inkscape 1.0 beta 2. Still no luck. I'll open a bug report as you said.
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it.
