Sometimes Inkscape drives me mad! Sketchup is so fast for drawing but I seem to struggle all the time with getting stuff where I want it in inkscape.
For example I have two guidlines (one vertical, one horiszontal) So I want to put a circle exactly where these guides cross. I set Snap to other points on. As long as I draw the circle at the interesection of the guides, with shift and ctrl down I get a circle in the right place.
However if I draw the circle elsewhere and want to move it so its centred on the guidlines, it just seems to float around without snapping? Is there some other snap I need to set on when moving an object so it snaps on the centre?

OK, found it, I needed, enbble snapping, snap to bounding boxes, snapping centre of bounding boxes, snap to guides all set on.
