Current version on windows. When i have the node tool selected and hover over a node some text pops up to give me more information about the node. The text is too small and I want to be able to change it, but I cannot find anything in Preferences to do that. Can it be done and if so how? Thanks!

The node information is displayed in the status bar (at the bottom of the Inkscape window) when hovering.

Snapping information is displayed in the popup text when hovering. To make the snapping information popup larger, activate the Measure tool and increase the font size in its controls. All the popups will now have this size.

Seems to me this setting should be in preferences though.

Yup - that needs to be in preferences.
