I don't know if i am right to post this type of question in this type of forum's topic,... I want to ask you about how to master Inkscape. Is it about understand all of Inkscape's tool function?
That's an interesting question. I'm sure it will generate an interesting discussion. Here's my view.
Knowing the tools is useful but not essential. Even knowing every capability of every tool, I find myself coming back to the same few again and again. That said, knowing the tools well opens up more possibilities helps generate ideas.
Good pictures come from an artistic eye more than a huge toolset. I classify myself as more draughtsman than artist, but I'm quite pleased with these images which use only lines, curves, colouring and transparency. Full disclosure: I used the Tweak tool [w] to move some nodes around.
I don't think anyone uses all of Inkscape's tools and features. It's good to know what the more common features can do, but some features and tools are very specialized.
Inkscape is a constantly evolving project, so knowledge can become obsolete, and there is always something new.
In the web-connected era, guidance on features and methods is a only few clicks away.
Wow, what a good point of view you have... Yeah, I have been wondering about this myself. Should I learn the design program, like Inkscape by learning all of it's tool function. I think by learning all of them, I can mastering Inkscape and make super awesome art.
@Tyler Durden so to master Inkscape, i don't need to read every tool function's description on the website? I just need to learn basics... Is that what you suggest?
