I tried to do exactly same steps but couldn't cut half the curve. Also, I want to remove the line between point A and B and C and D and kine between A and D should be dotted.

To remove the lines from object ABCD, remove the stroke. http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Attributes-Fill-Stroke.html
To remove half of the parabola, select the duplicated vertical line AND the parabola. http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/Paths-Combining.html

The video is here.
After establishing the shape+fill send it backwards behind the strokes.
I did but still, it is visible.
What is still visible? I donΒ΄t get whatΒ΄s wrong with it or how it should look instead?
I do not need the part that I mentioned in the picture. I only need to colour the part between points ABCD.
Like so?
