Not sure what I did but on objects only I don't have scale/rotation handles or bounding border appearing. Also when I click on the select tool then double click on a square a window pane appears in the center. The layer is not locked. When I click and drag to select the square the comment is no object selected. Any ideas how I can correct this?

I figured it out, stroke was too large. Sorry for the trouble.
