Total Newbie here. Cannot find this topic in forum so far. Be gentle on me.
Built CNC router (all seems to work well), trying to learn and use Inkscape then Candle to communicate to router. I want to make routed signs in 12" x 18" aluminum sign blanks. I go to Inkscape, set the page properties (including MM:inch selection twice - as inches) and set the work area as 12x18. I go to the work area and (for example) draw the work "elephant" in arial font with 1" tall letters and place the bottom left of the word at 1,1 from origin. I select text, I do ctrl-shft-L - to set open a layer and go into it, then I do path-object to path, then I do exten-gcodetool - orientation (set the safe height etc.). I then do extensions - gtools - path to gcode.
If I either run file on router or visualize on ncviewer online, it shows that it starts at origin in bottom left (I selected that option) and it flies to a ridiculously large and incorrect spot to start the operations. I have wracked my brain, youtube, and the interwebs (thanks, Al Gore). I am lost. I know the router will start from where it stops, if interrupted but that would not impact the visualizer.
