Beginners' Questions saving workspace / window position and size?

When I open Inkscape, it always opens up to completely fill the screen. I can resize and move it but it doesn't remember its position or size between sessions.

Am I missing something or is this the way it always works?

I'm a little confused about that myself.  But I think there is a way for Inkscape to remember.

Try Preferences > Interface > Windows > Saving Window Geometry  (Be sure to read the tooltips or hovertext, for important details.)

    Thanks...yes, that seemed to work.

On the other hand, the "document Properties" dialog box continues to come in almost off the screen to the right. ☹

Where is the setting for that?

    It's a known issue, I think.

I think that setting is only for the main Inkscape window, and does not affect the dialogs.

Document Properties opens off the screen for everyone, as far as I've heard.

Some of us only use it docked, since the scrolling bug.

^ What does that mean? How do you dock Document Properties? Some sort of answer needs to be had...it's real annoying.

All dialogs (aka panels) can be docked at the right side of the workspace.
