I have saved a text object svg file before with Inkscape and within the svg file there are <path tags.
I am now saving a text object svg file and there is NO <path tags, but now there are <tspan tags.
Wouldn't a true svg file contain <path tags? And how do I get an svg file to save with the <path tags?
Answer to my own question: Object to Path
Open Inkscape or File > New
("A" icon middle left column)Create and edit text objects > Click over canvas > Type text
("Arrow" icon top left column)Select and transform objects > Select newly created text
(Menu Bar)Text > Text and Font... > (Edit font as needed...)
(Menu Bar)File > Document Properties... > (tab)Page > [+] Resize page to content... > Resize page to drawing or selection
If needed: (Menu Bar)Object > Align and Distribute...
(Menu Bar)Path > Object to Path
(Menu Bar)File > Save
SVG files support many object types: path, line, polyline, rectangle, rounded rectangle, ellipse, circle, polygon, images and text.
