Hi All, I'm a newbie to Inkscape ver 1.2.1. I'm running Windows 10 Pro and the below/attached is an SVG file created in Carbide Create. I'm trying to remove the unwanted lines in the two circles as well as the vector that extends below the main object, which btw is a gable roof. I've tried the node editor and the eraser tool, the latter of which tends to rid me of the entire line outside the circles. I obviously need to spend more time learning about Inkscape, but I'm running out of time for this project. The ultimate goal is to get this SVG back into Carbide Create so I can create toolpaths for Shaper Origin. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
With the file open in Inkscape, go to View > Display Mode > Outline: this will only show the "skeleton" of the lines.
Zoom in well (shortucut: "Z" key). In the toolbox, grab the Nodes tool. Hold down Ctrl and Alt and click on the part of the line you want to remove: this will create a node on it. Repeat this step, creating another node on the opposite side: with this you will have two nodes.
Create a node between these two and click on the button at the top("break path at selected nodes"). Press the Delete key and half of the line segment will be deleted. Select the center point and the rest of the line segment will be deleted.
Note: if you need to go back to normal view, go to View > Display Mode > Normal. The images below are not in the correct order: the one on the left is actually the second and vice versa.
