Beginners' Questions removing transparent backgrounds from clipart images

    Im trying to remove a transparent background from a clipart image but cannot find the tool to do it. Can someone direct me to the tool?

    Use the Pen tool [b] to draw an approximate outline around the interesting content in the imported image. Select the outline and the image, then [Object > Clip > Set Clip]. Everything outside the clip boundary will be hidden.

    When I imported a bitmap with a transparent background, the checkerboard came with it and I couldn't make it go away.

    We have seen other users withΒ images that are supposed to have transparency, but they don't. Some online sellers don't upload the correct versions.

    Sounds like you caught a preview version perhaps.
