the pressure sensitivity of the pencil tool dosen't work. inkscape dosen't detect my XP-pen artist 12 like a graphic tablet capable of pressure sensitivity but like a system aggregated pointer.
I have missed something ? i need to configured it in some way ?
My pc is a Windows 10 x64 and my graphic tablet is a xp-pen artist 12 - driver ver. 1.6.4
I'm having the same trouble with a Wacom tablet on Mac. My Input Devices dialog is empty. Do you have anything showing up on your Input Devices dialog?
I came here with the same question. I'm trying to get the software to respond to the pressure sensitivity of the stylus on my Surface Pro 3 while using the calligraphy tool. Has anyone found a solution to this?
Hello, i have a similar problem and seemed to have a work around:
OS: Windows 10 pro 64bit. Tablet: Wacom Intuos 4 pro & Cintiq 16.
Problem: Inkscape 1.0 doesn't recognize the tablets and pen pressure doesn't work.
How to "Fix":
1. With both Wacom Intuos 4 & Cintiq 16 connected, install inkscape-0.92.5-x64.exe. This version seems able to recognize Intuos 4 but not Cintiq 16. However, install it with both devices connected to computer, able to make it recognize Cintiq 16 as well.
2. Use pen to open Iknscape 3. Go to Edit -> Input Devices 4. On Input Device, check each of 4 Wacom pen & eraser and select 'SCREEN' -> Save.
Exit Inkscape.
5. Open C:\Users\[userName]\AppData\Roaming\inkscape\preferences.xml It should have 4 entries of Wacom, without particular names. It's OK.
Make a copy of this file as backup incase it's overwritten for any reason.
6. Unistall Inkscape, if asked to Keep Preferences, check it. 7. Restart computer. 8. Install inkscape-1.0-x64.exe. 9. Open Inkscape by tablet pen. 10. Now, the pen presure option on Pencil & Brush should work.

The bug reports can be searched here: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/extensions/-/issues
I searched all reports (open and closed) but there was nothing related to this. ☹
