I am brand new to Inkscape and want to revert back to the original default settings. I found posts and videos that all say go to Edit, then Preferences, then reset to default, but no Preferences option appears under my Edit button. I've searched for alternative ways to access preferences, but couldn't find any. I recently downloaded Inkscape 1.3.2 to my MacOS Sonoma 14.2.1.

On a Mac, the preferences option will appear in the menu as either Inkscape > Preferences or Inkscape > Settings
Thanks Windell. After posting my question I also found a previous post by Tyler Durden (https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/getting-back-to-square-one-and-starting-over-its-easy/) that explained it. My problem solved!
Thanks for the help. I tried that and got to "Preferences" but still did not see a "Reset Preferences" option. However I did solve my problem which was posted by Tyler Durden {https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/getting-back-to-square-one-and-starting-over-its-easy/} by using "Control" + " Shift" + "P" + "Reset Preference". That worked!
