Beginners' Questions Poor resolution on print/pdf

I sometimes have a problem exporting to print/pdf but loose detail/resolution when using patterns or some other feature to make a structure. See the two attached files.ย

    - The background in the svg is rather detailed, however in the pdf it becomes blurred. What do I do wrong? Is this in some way related to my svg- or export settings?

    Help appreciated!

PDF files have no ability for filter effects, so upon saving as PDF the option to convert filtered objects includes rasterizing (converting to bitmap).

The resolution of the converted/rasterized objects can be set in the Save as PDF dialog. I'd try a higher resolution.

I use the print to PDF option where rendering is sat to vector. See screenshot.ย However when I try to use export to pdf I get the same result regardless of which DPI i choose. Se attached examples.ย

I would not use Print to PDF., only export or Save a Copy as PDF.

When I use Save a copy as PDF, I get the expected results. Below is a comparison of my 300dpi, vs your 300dpi.

Thanks. Staggering differance. I'm on Ubuntu 22.04, usingย Inkscape 1.2 (1:1.2.1+202207142221+cd75a1ee6d). I'm not sure what installer info is... I suppose I've used an app image.

I tried Save as pdf now, which appears to work better. Thanks!
