Beginners' Questions PNG output : Colors are washed out

Hi, use last version of Inkscape (1.1) I have a problem when exporting to PNG. The output file colors are like "washed out" a bit like going from RGB to CMYK. There is not a lot of things you can change in the parameters but none can correct this problem.

You can see an example here (dropbox link): https://www.dropbox.com/s/fi838l176yhrgqp/Inskcape%20color%20problem%202021-07-14%2015_33_59.png?dl=0

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

I guess you have some Transparency enabled somewhere or Opacity isn´t set to 100 for instance.

Yes  😐 Polygon you are right, Its a transparency enabled at my end when i disabled it my colors are set and not washed out. Thanks for this solution.

Happened to all of us sometime I guess. ;-)

But I checked twice and there is no transparency in the color I selected for the font nor in other part of the drawing. That's very strange. More, if I had a screen calibration problem of course I could not have one correct and one incorrect image at the same time on the same monitor (as my capture is showcasing it).

It seems there's a lack of blue, the blue palette is more magenta than blue.

Perhaps this is not an inkscape problem, but any suggestion will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advace

Not sure where you checked colours and perhaps a color profile is added which image editors quite frankly do on the fly - but nonetheless check Opacity also:

I will check again the opacity to be more sure than sure! For the color profile, which preference or option must I check to be here too sure than I'm not missing something ? Thanks for your help

As far as I know Inkscape don´t handle icc-Profiles or add them during export - but opening/importing Inkscape and other bitmap images into image editors will add a color profile - can´t really tell if that´s what you´re experiencing here and causing color shifting.

I tried to measure RGB values via Digital Color Meter and none of the 5 RGB profiles match the values displayed in Inkscape - no clue why this is. I will ask a developer friend of mine.

@Polygon this is the same thing here... Your color palette is showing the same "defect" that mine, the Blue line is ending in Pink not Blue, so there's a lack of Blue somewhere. I think it is a good start to track the problem. Why the Bluie line does not contain any blue color? As I think all is linked this is an important point that must be solved. At least we are two having the same problem. You are using a Mac, I'm using a PC, so two different environments, same problem with the same soft. As an IT pro, I think the only thing that is common is Inkscape itself...

Ok - here´s the catch: world of wonders.

Fun thing is the exported PNG contains pretty exact the same values.

Yes I checked that point too and I saw that the RGB values are the same, even in the PNG ! It is incredible... This must be relative to color profiles, but I can't find how to solve the problem...

The Blue line of your color picker is ending with pink not blue, like mine. No blue. So we must find why and how to correct this behavior and I think that the rest will be solved...

Late to this thread, but when you export to PNG Inkscape does not embed a color profile; that leads to washed-out colors when printing or viewing. The only solution I've found is to open the PNG in Photoshop - which immediately notices the lack of a profile and gives you a choice of embedding one of your choice. Once a proper color profile is assigned the image can be re-saved and colors should be correct.
