    Hi,

    ย

    I would like to draw a rounded square (512px * 512px) with a fill color and a 10px stroke.

I would like to have the stroke INSIDE the shape and not as it is now, i.e. not half way in and out.

If my document is 512px by 512px and my square has the same dimensions, I really would like to be sure that stroke of the shape is not cropped by 50%.

How can I do that ? I mean to set stroke of shape, inside the shape itself ?

    ย

    thx

I'd probably reduce the size of the rectangle by 5px.

Iยดd go with the "Visual bounding box" - adjust 10px stroke width then 512x512px for the rectangle. "Inside Alignment" for strokes is not available in Inkscape and most likely would cause rendering issues - not for a single shape but stacked ones.

@TylerDurden : This is what I did as walkaround solution till now, but that not a long-term solution IMO.

By svg specification, the stroke goes on both sides of the path.

The fill may be placed in front of the stroke, but the stroke will always be on the outside of the path.

The shape may be duplicated and used as a clip to hide the outer portion of the stroke.
