I have set the Pencil Tool preferences multiple times but they never seem to stay.
I create a line using the settings that I want. I select that pencil line, go into Global Preferences, choose pencil, choose This Tools Own Style and then I click the Take From Selection bar. When I do, it takes the selections Fill & Stroke and shows them on the preferences screen. I close the screen and the first time I create a pencil line it uses the fill, stroke, smoothing and turns on the LPE simplify button...............just like I want. But then if I change any of those settings in an Inkscape drawing, every time I use the Pencil from that point on it uses the last set of settings. Even if I close Inkscape down and restart, it uses the last setting.
