As you can see in the image, the path is not closely following the red outlines (what is really drawn) when i use the pencil tool . It does not happen when using the pen tool however. Most of the time, the whole stroke start to 'shiver' when playing with the handles of it. I am currently using the latest version of inkscape (version 1.3.2) and windows 11. Any idea of what can cause this ? Thanks !
When you use the pencil tool [p] or the bezier pen tool [b], the tool control bar shows [Mode: Regular / Spiro / Bspline]. You probably used Spiro mode, which fits a series of circular arcs to your path. "Shiver" occurs when Inkscape recalculates the arcs as you move nodes around.
Mmmm, i am actually using the default 'Regular bezier path' . I guess i'll just have to use the pen tool since the output closely follow the outlines, and then convert angular points to broken one with angles,Β but it's not super intuitive as i thought using the pencil should be used to draw precise organic shape vs the pen which produce angular lines a first .

I'd open path effects panel (shortcut : & ) and see if there is one path effect applied.

Check Status Bar for any hints about that path.Β
My guess is also the use of Spiro Path.ΒΒ No - itΒ΄s neither a Spiro- nor BSpline - you can convert to BΓ©zier path with Path->Object to Path.
