I've created an A5 document composed of four layers. When I try to convert it to a PDF, one of the layers is missing. I'm under time pressure to produce this PDF. Can anyone advise me quickly what to do to rectify this? Many thanks if you can help.

If you can share the file, that will help.ย

    Welcome to the forum!

Please share your Inkscape version and operating system, when you provide the SVG file.

The quickest guess I could make, is if you have an older version of Inkscape, there are bugs where certain types of objects or elements aren't converted to PDF properly.ย  If I recall, there was one where even partial transparency was causing a problem.ย  Filters or patterns or markers are culprits we've seen in the past too.

Iโ€™m also encountering the same issue when converting layered documents to PDF. One of the layers disappears even though it looks fine in the editor. Iโ€™ve tried different export settings but the problem still remains. Following this thread to see if someone has a quick fix. I am sorry for reviving an old thread because somebody has already asked that question. Please give me solution thanks.

PDFs don't like masks, sometimes clips, and some rogue paths that have big numbers.

If you can share an example Inkscape SVG file, we can poke into it.

Thatโ€™s really helpful to know about masks, clips, and rogue paths possibly causing the issue. Iโ€™ll double-check my file for those elements. Iโ€™ll also prepare a sample SVG and share it here so you can take a closer lookโ€”maybe that will make it easier to identify whatโ€™s going wrong in my case. Appreciate your willingness to help! Thanks. It almost feels like reviewing the Texas Roadhouse menu, where you want to make sure no items are hidden or misplaced so the full picture comes through clearly. For more details, click here.
