When editing text off the canvas with the text tab (shift-cmd-t) the text style defaults on an altered (unintended) appearance. Hence I constantly have to restyle the applied text. This is not very useful. How do I fix this? Kind regards, Raaskot
Create a text object - adjust its settings to your liking - with it still selected make a double click on the text tool icon and choose. "This tool´s own style" hit "take from selection". Does this help?
Ah, very good. This works fine for me. But be sure to select the bounding text block with the S-tool (not T). Else the "Take from selection" thing won't activate.
With thanks and kind regards, Raaskot
PS: Nice feature with the double-click tool icon hint ;)
There´s no "S"election mode involved in the described process above: hit "T" for Text Tool - either click+type or click+drag+type - color adjustment via color pallet - double-click on Text tool icon - Preferences will open - hit "Take from selection" - done.

Glad it worked out for you though.
You're right. I can confirm your objection: No reason to provide my false observations ;)
I guess I confused the selections order -- or something :)
All great - good that we talked about it. 😊
