I am attempting to turn a group of objects into a pattern (file attached).

Steps to reproduce:

1) Select group of objects (only group in file)

2) Navigate: Objects>Pattern>Objects to Pattern

3) Program hangs and is unresponsive

Windows 10
Inkscape V1.3 installed yesterday on this system for the first time

Working here on Mint 21.

I'd rest the preferences and see if the issue persists.

I have further narrowed this down that when creating any closed shape/object with the pen tool in "BSpline Path" mode and then trying to pattern the resulting shape I get this error.

If I create a shape with the pen in "regular Bezier path" mode I can create the pattern without issue.

I will try your suggestion with resetting preferences and report back. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program which did not fix the issue.

If you prefer to work with BSpline you can convert into Béziers with Path->Object to Path.
